L-valine is one of the 20 amino acids that make up proteins. It is one of the 8 essential amino acids and a sugar-producing amino acid for the human body. Together with the other two high-concentration amino acids (isoleucine and leucine), it promotes normal growth of the body, repairs tissues, regulates blood sugar, and provides the necessary energy. When participating in intense physical activities, valine can provide the muscles with additional energy to produce glucose, thereby preventing muscle weakness. It also helps clear excess nitrogen (a potential toxin) from the liver and transport the nitrogen needed by the body to various parts.
